GOALS FOR 3 YEAR OLD CLASS
|
|
The main goal of the 3-year-old program is to provide a safe
and caring environment where the children will learn and grow in a positive
way. Our staff want the children to feel comfortable to explore and express
themselves through the many projects and activities planned throughout the
year. At this age, children learn through play and hands on activities. The
children will have many opportunities to develop their language skills, small
and large motor skills, and social skills through stories, music, games, finger plays,
rhymes, movement activities, and art activities. They will be moving beyond
themselves and families to learn to share and cooperate with other people
in an organized program. For many children this is their first experience
in school and we want the children to feel comfortable and happy away from
their familiar surroundings. Finally, the staff hope the child will learn
to love school and begin to develop a life-long love of learning. |
|
GOALS FOR 4 YEAR OLD CLASS |
|
The goals for the 4-year-old program are to provide a loving
and caring environment for your child. Our first and last concern is with
your child. The staff will teach from the simple to complex by building on
previously learned skills. Each child will be allowed to learn and grow at
his or her own pace. Skills will be reinforced with many hands-on and fun
experiences in different contexts. Academic curriculum will be the focus.
The teacher will focus on small and large motor skills, writing names, preparation
for reading, math, science, cooking, and recognition of letters and sounds,
with lots of art projects that coordinate with the lesson plan for a particular
day. By the end of their preschool experience, we hope we will have expanded
a child's learning to make the transition into kindergarten an easier and
happy experience. |
